UDHAMPUR : The Udhampur Police while continuing its drive against drug smugglers, recovered 35 kg of Bhukki (Poppy Straw) from a Maruti Van at Police Naka Jakheni, Udhampur.
The police party led by SHO Udhampur conducted a surprise check of the vehicles under the overall supervision of SSP Udhampur Mohd Suleman Choudhary and Dy SP Headquarters at Jakheni and intercepted a Maruti Van bearing registration No JK14-4105. During search of the vehicle the police recovered 35 kg Bhukki concealed in a gunny bags.
The police arrested the narcotic smuggler namely Romi Gupta son of Shiv Lal Gupta resident of Staini, Udhampur , seized the vehicle and registered a case FIR 2/15 under section 8/15 NDPS Act at Police Station Udhampur.
