Mushtaq to represent J&K at Bahuroopi International Theater Festival

JAMMU: Amateur Theatre Group, Jammu has once again brought laurels to the State, as the group has been invited to participate in the Bahuroopi International Multilingual Theater Festival to be organised at Mysore from 13th to 18th January, 2017.
During the Festival, a total of 11 plays from across the country and four plays from abroad, including Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Poland, will be presented. Mushtaq Kak, the Director of ATG, has been invited to present Urdu play ‘Ishq Malangi’ based on Khalid Hussain’s two short stories, dramatised by Pritam Katoch. The play has been directed by veteran Theatre Director and Sangeet Natak Academy Award Winner, Mushtaq Kak, who was earlier associated with Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts, New Delhi as Artistic Director. He has also received the Best Director Award for Andha Yug, Malika and Pratibimb.
Among his plays, Maha-Brahmin and Alladad were adjudged as the Best plays for years 1999 and 2000 respectively in New Delhi. Overall, he has directed more than 100 plays at State and National level. He has also acted in Hindi movies like Hijack, Sikandar and Hollywood movie, Amal.
