UDHAMPUR: Police on Tuesday arrested a motorcyclist and a pillion rider and seized 45 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession.
According to a report, based on reliable information developed by police patrolling party of Police Post Tikri led by In-Charge Police Post Tikri, the police party carried out checking of one suspicious motorcyclist namely Uttam Kumar son of Girdhari Lal resident of Muttal and pillion rider namely Puran Chand son of Indru resident of Muttal and recovered 45 pouches of J and K Excise (Desi Whisky 250/250 ML) from their possession. He was transporting these pouches in a polythene bag for illegal sale in his native village Muttal. The said accused persons were arrested on the spot and motorcycle and liquor pouches seized.
A case under FIR No. 72/2015 section 48A Ex. Act was registered at Police Station Rehmbal and further investigation of the case is going on.
