Demonetization of currency notes is a very bold and welcome step taken by the Honourable Prime Minister of India few days before. Modi’s surgical strike against black money, corruption, and counterfeit currency is going to put India in a big way in the ethical world of political life.
Everyone is expecting that demonetization of high currency notes would cripple both the internal and external terrorists. Furthermore cross border terrorism is going to be hit in a big way. Demonetizing of high value currency notes is basically the logical outcome of PM’s focus on eradicating the scourge of black money and striking terror financing. Modi’s scrapping old currency notes is really an appreciating and laudable step which is mainly aimed at rooting out the black money. But three days time for allowing old currency notes in hospitals is too short for critical and costly treatments. Besides this measure, the union government should reform the institutional and legal framework, seek better tax compliance and set up transparent trade regime, so the big fish do not manage to escape. All political parties and other social organizations should come forward to stand by the prime minister to make Indian public life clean and corruption free.
