AKHNOOR: Expressing surprise over the statement of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti seeking dialogue with Pakistan to resolve the prevailing unrest on the LoC and International Border and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is following the peace formula laid down by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Sham Lal Sharma Senior Vice President JKPCC and former Minister said that it is not understood what formula Vajpayee had laid for talks as instead of peace there was Kargil war which resulted into loss of precious lives of our brave soldiers and now the same strategy is being followed by the Modi government which has led state into the present turmoil.
Lambasting State Government, Sharma said that there is no government and civil administration functioning in the state. There is chaos at every level in the state due to inefficiency of the BJP-PDP government.
He said that whole state has been turned into battlefield by the BJP government intentionally. In my opinion this situation is being created by the NDA government keeping in view the forthcoming Assembly elections in the UP and Gujarat.
Accusing Modi of talking much and making hollow promises to the people right from the Lok Sabha elections, Sham Lal said that it is time for Modi to act and deliver to the people of this country.
He said that people of the border belt in the State have been suffering badly due to Pakistani firing. “They are scared of shelling and needed to be rehabilitated at the safer places. Their demand of raising Pucca bunkers near the LoC and adequate compensation is genuine and justified,” he added.
Modi has not spoken a single word on Pakistani firing and killings of innocent civilians, he said adding that he should take action.
Taking a dig at the Modi and BJP for exploiting the isolated incidents at the borders during UPA regime and launching a loud campaign for domestic politics, Sharma said unfortunately they failed to ensure calm and peace at borders during the short stint of Modi rule and people have suffered the worst during this period.
“Now, as the terror incidents have increased manifold, the government led by Modi is going two-steps forward and four steps backward. I think they don’t have any clear policy with regard to Pakistan”, Sharma added.
