Mir visits flood hit areas of Tangmarg

SRINAGAR: The Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir along with Chief Engineer R&B, Kashmir Sushil Razdan, Executive Engineers of Gulmarg Development Authority and Flood Control today inspected Kunzar and Sharaie Tumberhama bridges, where the approach roads of these bridges have damaged due to flood. He instructed the authority, as soon as the weather condition are improved, necessary construction, repairs may be carried out immediately as these vital bridges are only surface links to contact the huge population of Tangmarg with rest of Valley.
The minister also visited Flood hit areas of Treean, Check -Ferozpur, Ferozpora, Sharai, Chandial, Wanigam besides a dozen of flood affected villages and took stock of situation arisen after devastating flood. He directed the authorities of Revenue Department to access the damages caused to property and crops without any delay so that necessary compensation is provided to the affected families.
Mir also directed the authorities of PHE to restore the drinking water supply on war-footing basis so that the people do not face any inconvenience relating to drinking water. He instructed them to assess the damage caused to water supply schemes and pipelines.
The minister directed the administration to remain vigilant and stressed them to be at the beck and call of the people whenever required so that the people do not face any kind of inconvenience. He further stressed to place more men and machinery into service to meet any untoward incident. He also directed the concerned authorities to arrange sufficient quantity of gunny bags available to meet out the requirement of the people.
