KISHTWAR: An 11- year old boy lost his life while four of his family members got injured when their house collapsed after a tree fell on it at village Devigole – Patnazi in Tehsil Bonjwah of district Kishtwar last night.
According to the reports, due to strong winds last night, a cedar tree got uprooted and fell on the mud house of Noor Maie Kohli at 12:45 AM, when they were sleeping.
SSP Kishtwar Sandep Wazir said that after listening the screams, villagers and police personnel from nearby Devigole picket rushed to the spot and found that four persons have managed to come out from the debris of the house but a boy has got trapped.
” Despite hostile weather and wind storm, police and locals immediately started the rescue operation but could only retrieve the body of the boy identified as Mohd Yaseen (11) from the debris of the completely damaged mud house, however other family members are safe with only minor injuries,” SSP added.
Former minister and National Conference MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo has expressed deep grief over the tragic death of an eleven year old boy due to house collapse, after a tree fell in the wake of strong winds, in Devi Gole Village of Bunjwah Tehsil of Kishtwar district.
Conveying his condolence to the bereaved family and praying for peace to the departed soul, Kichloo has sought specialized treatment to the other four members of the family, who have been injured in the mishap.
He expressed solidarity with the family and urged the government to provide assistance to all those whose houses have been damaged due to windstorm and torrential rains.
