BHADARWAH: A minor boy was crushed to death by a speeding Metadoor (mini bus) at Pranoo on Doda-Bhadarwah Road on Saturday.
A 13-year old boy, who was on a school picnic with other students of Middle School Tipri, was crushed to death under the wheels of a speeding matador near Check Post Pranoo, 22 Km from Bhadarwah.
According to reports, a matador carrying students of Middle School Tipri for a picnic was stopped by the children at Pranoo as they wanted to attend the nature’s call. As soon one of the student tried to cross the road, another speeding mini bus hit him resulting in him getting serious injuries. The minor boy was immediately rushed to Distt Hospital Doda where he succumbed to his injuries.
“The Injured boy was about to be airlifted to GMC Jammu as his condition was very serious, before the chopper could arrive , the boy succumbed to his injuries at Doda Hospital,” said SDPO Bhadarwah Sardar Sajjad Ahmed Khan.
“An FIR No 49/2016 has been lodged and a case under section 279,337,304-A RPC has been registered at Police Station Bhadarwah. The mini bus bearing registration number JK06-2079 has been seized but the driver fled from the spot,” Officer added.
The deceased student has been identified as Abid Hussain (13) Son of Mohd Iqbal Resident of Tipri, Thathri.
