Srinagar: A grenade attack on the police was reported in the Kakapora area in Phulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. So far no casualties have been reported. No terrorist organisation has yet claimed responsibility of the attack and further information on the incident is awaited. The grenade attack on the police comes just a day after three jawans and a woman were killed in an ambush in Shopian district. The soldiers were attacked when they were going for a cordon and search operation in Chittagam area of Shopian.
According to a recent report, the Indian Army lost 26 soldiers in the line of duty in Jammu and Kashmir in the first two months of 2017.
