MHA promotes 36 IPS officers; Deepak Kumar as DGP; Anand Jain, Nitish Kumar, Chayya Sharma as ADGPs

JAMMU: Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, on Thursday promoted 36 IPS officers.
“In pursuance to the recommendations of the Screening Committee in its meeting held on December 20, 2023, Deepak Kumar, IPS (AGMUT: 1993), currently posted in the cadre, has been promoted to the DGP Grade (Level 16 in the Pay Matrix) with effect from January 1, 2024 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is later,” read an order issued by Rakesh Kumar Singh, Under Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs.
“In pursuance to the recommendations of the Screening Committee, Chhaya Sharma, IPS (AGMUT: 1999), Anand Jain, IPS (AGMUT: 1999) and Nitish Kumar, IPS (AGMUT: 1999), currently posted in the cadre, are promoted to the ADGP Grade (LEVEL 15 in the Pay Matrix) with effect from January 1, 2024 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is later,” reads another order.
A separate order reads, “In pursuance to the recommendations of the Screening Committee in its meeting held on December 20, 2023, 32 IPS officers of AGMUT cadre, currently posted in the cadre, are hereby promoted to the DIGP Grade (LEVEL 13A in the Pay Matrix).”
As per order, Shakti Kumar Pathak, Dr. Mohd. Haseeb Mughal, Javid Ahmed Koul, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood and Shahid Mehraj Rather, all IPS officers (AGMUT: 2009) have been promoted with effect from the date of assumption of charge.
Rayees Mohammad Bhat, Shweta Chauhan, Amit Sharma, Sagar Singh Kalsi, Rajendra Prasad Meena, Patil Shridhar Daulu, Esha Pandey, Brijendra Kumar Yadav, Chandan Chowdhary, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Sanjay Bhatia, Satya Vir Katara, Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Varsha Sharma, Rajender Singh Sagar, Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Ajeet Singh, Altaf Ahmed Khan, Haseeb-ur-Rehman, Vikas Gupta, Abdul Qayoom, Nisha Nathyal, and Javid Iqbal Matoo, all IPS officers (AGMUT: 2010) have been promoted with effect from January 1, 2024 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is later.
Further, the IPS officers of AGMUT cadre, Benita Mary Jaiker, Dr. Eish Singhal, Rajiv Omprakash Pande and Santosh Kumar Meena, currently posted on Central Deputation, are granted Proforma Promotion to the DIGP Grade (LEVEL 13A in the Pay Matrix) with effect from January 1, 2024 and on actual basis with effect from the date of assumption of charge of their immediate juniors in the cadre,” it stated and added, “This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.”
