JAMMU: A contractual technical assistant appointed under MGNREGA has been terminated for posting objectionable picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the social media.
“A technical assistant engaged under MGNREGA namely Riaz Ahmed, who was recently transferred from Kalakote to Koteranka was terminated from assignment for posting objectionable pictures of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on WhatsApp group,” Dr Shahid Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri said.
He said that action was initiated after preliminary verification conducted by District administration revealed that the technical assistant posted objectionable pictures of Prime Minister on official group and has been habitual of indulging in absenteeism as well.
“ACD Rajouri has been directed to make alternative arrangements,” he said and added that the terminated official was questioned for the act and could not present any defence. The verification of proof presented to the administration indicted him of gross misconduct, said the DC.
