JAMMU: Market Bulls bagged the Winter Cup Twenty20 title beating Simula Club by five wickets in the title clash that took place on Friday at KC Sports Club (KCSC) Ground, here.
Earlier, Simula won the toss and batting first set a target of 155 runs. Hardeep Singh played fine innings of 54 runs while Atul Sharma and Satish contributed 39 and 15 runs respectively. For Market Bulls, Prithpal took two wickets, followed by Amandeep and Bansi Lal, who shared apiece each.
In reply, Market Bulls chased the total, rather comfortably losing their five wickets. Bansi Lal played a key role in the team’s win with his quickfire 24-ball 41 runs. Jatin and Dhruv were other main scorers with 44 and 35 runs in their respective accounts. For Simula, Hardeep bowled well taking away two wickets while Raman Dutta and Kuleep shared one each.
For his all-round performance, Bansi Lal of Market Bulls was declared Man of the Match. The final was officiated by the technical panel comprising Sadiq Hussain, Ashok Singh and Shiv Kumar.
In the final, Secretary, Tourism and Floriculture, Farooq Ahmed Shah was Chief Guest, who interacted with the finalist teams. The visiting guest also had a round of the KC Sports Club and looked at the facilities being extended to the
members.
