JAMMU: A 36-yr-old man on Saturday committed suicide by jumping from Tawi bridge , police here said.
“A man identified as Tara Chand, son of Prem Chand, resident of Ramkote, tehsil Billawar, district Kathua, presently living in Gorkha Nagar, this evening jumped from the bridge on Tawi in Gujjar Nagar area,” police here said. They said that police and members of civil defence were immediately pressed into service to evacuate him. “The man had died on the spot,” police added.
They said that no suicide note or any other document was recovered from his possession while investigations under section 174 of CrPC have been initiated.
