SAMBA: An inspection team of Legal Metrology Department headed by Anita Sharma Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology conducted intensive market checking at Samba, Jatwal Ghagwai along the National Highway. A dozen traders which included two sweet shops furniture showroom, two bars and restaurants, two hardware showrooms, three welding shops, c scrap dealer and one fodder shop were booked and fined by the inspection team for violation various provisions of Weights and Measures Enforcement (Amendement) Act 2011.
A composition of Rs. 16,500 was realised on spot from the defaulters. The department further directed the traders to use only verified weighing and measuring instruments and sell only those pre-packed commodities which bear clearly MRP, Date of packing.
