Lawyers protest against threats to Valley Sikhs, Christians

JAMMU: Young Lawyers Association (YLA) on Friday staged a demonstration against Government for its inaction in curbing separatists from threatening Sikhs, Christians, Pandits and other minorities living in the Kashmir Valley.
Led by President YLA, Daljeet Singh Manhas, the lawyers assembled in the District Court Complex Janipur and raised slogans against the government.
Manhas said that today’s protest is to express solidarity with minority community of Kashmir Valley comprising Sikhs, Christians, etc, which is reeling under constant pressure exerted by separatists to join anti-India tirade or face death.
Supported by High Court Bar Association Jammu, the YLA condemned the incidents of such nature and asked Government to take strong action to safeguard interests of Sikhs and other minority communities in Valley and other parts including Rajouri and Poonch. Pardeep Majotra Vice President YLA was also present.
