KVK organises awareness on breastfeeding

REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised awareness programme on breastfeeding at village Chamyara of Reasi District which was attended by a large number of women and ICDS Deptt. officials of the area.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Associate Director Extension (ADE) and Incharge of KVKs of SKUAST-J, Dr. R.K Arora. The aim of the programme was to encourage the breastfeeding among the women and improve the health of babies. Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi Dr. Banarsi Lal gave a detailed view on World Breastfeeding Week which is observed every year from August 1 to 7, of across the globe.
Anjali Rani from ICDS Deptt. guided the women about the balance diet and stressed on the child care after birth.
She said that breastfeeding helps in forming the unique bond between mother and child and also prevents the incidence of post delivery depression. The resource persons interacted with the participants and replied various quarries asked by the women.
In this programme Captain Jagdish Singh of the Indian Army was also present.
The programme was assisted by Manohar Lal and concluded by Dr. Banarsi Lal with vote of thanks.
