KC Sportathon 2023 concludes at KC Public School

JAMMU: The annual sports event KC Sportathon jointly hosted by KC Public School and KC Sports Club brings leading schools of Jammu together for various sports competitions and is dedicated to late Sudarshan Kumar Mahajan, the Founder Chairman of KC Educational Society.
The event was revived for the first time after prolonged closure of schools during Corona epidemic.
A large number of Jammu schools took part in this year’s edition from November 20 to 26 in which inter-school competitions were held in cricket, tennis and badminton. The event also included the annual athletic meet of KCPS on the last day of the event to which school parents were invited.
The concluding function of KC Sportathon 2023 was held on Sunday on the multi-sports ground of the school.
Ravinder Raina, President of BJP (J&K UT) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and gave away awards to winning teams in cricket, tennis and badminton and to outstanding athletes of KCPS in track events such as short sprints and Inter House relay races.
The Chairman of KC Educational Society Raju Chowdhary, Vice Chairman Arjun Chowdhary and Managing Director of the school Arti Chowdhary were also present at the function.
The function commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, a welcome address by School Principal AK Mishra, a formal parade by school athletes and collective oath taking ceremony led by School Head Boy Medhaj Pathania and School Head Girl Eddha Manhas.
It was followed by a few final athletic events by KCPS students under different age categories. After the athletic events, students of KCPS put up a fine and well-orchestrated display of Dumb Bell exercises, Zumba Dance and martial art Karate. The Chief Guest distributed prizes, certificates and trophies to winning teams and individual athletes. Ravinder Raina praised the management of the school for offering the children of Jammu & Kashmir an educational environment comparable with the best in the world and congratulated KCPS students for their achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
He underscored the importance of physical and mental health in education and urged the youth of J&K to leave no stone unturned in their mission to bring glory and honour for the nation.
School Vice Principal Sanjay Pandey presented the vote of thanks.
