J-K CM Mehbooba has the most difficult job in India. Before she could sit in the CM’s chair, she had to face many acid tests, such as dealing with separatists and Pakistan-aided infiltrators. Mehbooba has kept our hopes alive with her governance. She acted firmly and swiftly in containing an ugly situation NIT-Srinagar. Whereas other leaders have been projecting themselves, as only or more Kashmiri than Indian, she has said that separatism is not Kashmiri nationalism. Her attestation that the security forces are doing a difficult job, is an encouraging sign of her ability to be firm and fair. She had the courage to concede and praise openly that the security forces are showing some restraint when dealing with civilians. She has exhibited no fear of taking on the separatists or even offending Pakistan. May be our Kashmiri Maria, Ms Mehbooba, will solve the tricky problems of the state to the satisfaction of all
stakeholders.
