SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service Officers Association (JKASOA) has issued an election notification to elect its office bearers and executive counselors of the Association on 24th of October 2017.
According to the notification, apart from the post of President, Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer and Publicity Secretary, ten members will be elected as counselors on the date of elections.
On October 3, nomination papers will be issued to the desiring candidates and the candidates will be required to submit the nomination papers by October 11, 2017.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on October 12 and nomination papers can be withdrawn till October 13. The election date has been finalised on October 24, the notification issued by Dr. G.N Itoo, (Returning Officer), said.
According to the notification, the nomination papers can be obtained and filed with the following assistant returning officers besides being available at DDCs/ADCs offices.
The notification said that ARO Srinagar and ARO Jammu shall also function as headquarter AROs for Kashmir and Jammu divisions respectively.
For Kashmir division, Dr. Mir Abdul Salam has been appointed as Assistant Returning Officer, Dr. Arun Manhas for Jammu, Moses Kuzang for Leh and Kachu Turab Shah for Kargil. Similarly in case of other districts, AROs have been designated for smooth and transparent conduct of the elections.
The elections notification said that the voting shall be held in the office premises of District Development Commissioners at respective District Headquarters under the supervision of District Development Commissioners.
However, for district Srinagar, voting shall be held at Civil Secretariat (Non-Gazetted Employees Union Office). In case a DDC filed nomination for any of the aforesaid offices, the elections shall be conducted under the supervision of next senior officer available, the notification read.
