JU wins three Team Bronze Medals in KIUG-2022

JAMMU: The fencers of University of Jammu won three Team Bronze Medals in 3rd Khelo-India University Games-2022 in Men’s Epee Team, Men’s Sabre Team and Women’s Sabre Team held at Lucknow (UP) from 25th May to 3rd June 2023.
The Men’s Epee team of JU comprised of Parvinder Sharma, Shivansh Kapoor, Gourav Thakur and Harsh Singh beat University of Mumbai team while Men’s Sabre team included Udhayveer Singh, Suryansh Sharma, Ajay Singh and Harsh Anand beat University of Delhi and won bronze medals for the JU. The third bronze winner team was Women’s Sabre included Mokshika Rana, Simran Rajput, Palak Bharti and Mansi Sapolia defeated Kurukshetra University team and won bronze medal for the JU.
The teams were accompanied by Padam Dev Singh as Team Manager where as Ajay Kumar and Ranchan Sabharwal as Coaches.
Vice Chancellor JU, Prof. Umesh Rai congratulated the Fencing teams who won medals for the University and applauded the efforts of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba and entire staff of the Directorate for this achievement at 3rd Khelo India University Games.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Directorate of Sports and Physical Education JU also congratulated the fencers and supporting staff for this great achievement in KIUG. He further added that Jammu University Fencing Academy is also doing great and hope for more medals at University, National and International level in near future.
