JU signs MOU with LJK Economic Growth and Development Dialogue

JAMMU: University of Jammu on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LJK Economic Growth and Development Dialogue to set out a framework for the participants to cooperate in the area of investment promotion in J&K. The organizations will jointly conduct studies, research and organize various capacity building activities across the districts of Jammu and Kashmir with an aim to identify investment opportunities and to measure the potential of growth in various sectors of the industry.
The MOU was signed in the presence of Prof. Anju Bhasin, officiating Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu by Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar, University of Jammu and by Sunil Shah, Director, LEAD.
Prof Bhasin said that this MOU will bring expertise from both the organizations and Academic combined with student power, will study the gap analysis for all Districts of Jammu. This will help us to find out the strengths and opportunities for each district.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Shah, Director, LEAD said that his organization would also conceive a “Youth Conclave” at every quarter on Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
He further said that both organizations will work together for Home Stay training to promote Rural, Religious Tourism. Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, JU and CEO, Special Purpose Vehicle Foundation, JU briefed that the signing of the MoU will open new opportunities and open windows for the betterment of our students who by way of this programme will get the necessary exposure.
It is pertinent to mention here that Nodal Officer shall also be designated to facilitate the exchange of information and managing the activities described in MOU.
MOU will make an effort to showcase business opportunities in J&K to potential investors, drive strategic sector-specific investments from private sector stakeholders across India and the world. The review shall be undertaken to view schemes & policies of the government with respect to industrial growth and investment promotion in J&K and students will truly benefit from such activities as this will help them to understand the gaps and see for themselves if tomorrow he wants to become an entrepreneur and how well he imagine to implement these schemes.
Among others, Manish Ahluwalia, core team members including Sat Sharma, Surinder Gupta, Rajiv Gupta, Harinder, Rajesh and Dr Vinay Thusoo, Incharge Media were also present on the occasion.
