KATHUA: Jammu Sanskriti School (JSS) Kathua on Monday conducted a highly successful cyclothon with the theme “One Earth, One Future.”
The event was a vibrant manifestation of the school’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness and healthy living among students and the local community.
The cyclothon was graced by guests, with Paramjeet Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Kathua as the chief guest, and Manjeet Singh, DSP Headquarters Kathua as the Guest of Honour. Their presence and support added significant value to the event, inspiring participants and spectators alike.
The event commenced with a ceremonial flag-off by Paramjeet Singh and Manjeet Singh.
In their brief but impactful addresses, both dignitaries emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering a sense of responsibility towards environmental conservation and personal health.
They lauded the efforts of Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua for organizing the cyclothon, highlighting how such activities can cultivate a spirit of community and environmental stewardship.
Participants, including students and faculty members cycled through a pre-determined route from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park– stadium– Women College–Shaheedi Chowk– Gdc Kathua–back to Sheheed Bhagat Singh Park.
At the culmination of the event, all participants were felicitated with certificates by the dignitaries, Paramjeet Singh and Manjeet Singh.
This gesture was a token of appreciation for their enthusiastic participation and commitment to the cause.
Towards the culmination, the dignitaries were presented with a token of gratitude.
Principal, Mili R Sumbria lauded the efforts of the young and dynamic Sanskritians for having so enthusiastically participated in the Cyclothon 2024 making it a successful endeavour and sensitizing the masses to not only plant saplings but to draw their attention towards a more sustainable and greener future ahead.
Lastly, she thanked each one who has contributed in making Cyclothon-2024 a grand success. She also extended a heartfelt gratitude to the District Administration, Police Department and Traffic Department for their unwavering support and cooperation.
