Job fair commences
KATHUA: In order to provide job opportunity to unemployed youth, District Administration Kathua in collaboration with Larsen and Turbo Ltd. (L&T Ltd.) organised two days job fair at Government Degree College Kathua here on Sunday.
SSP Kathua Mohan Lal, CPO Kathua, General Manager DIC Kathua, Dy. Director Employment and Counselling Centre Kathua, representative from L and T Ltd Dr. Avdesh Yadav and Large number of unemployed youth from various Tehsils of District Kathua were present on the occasion.
DDC Kathua Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary inaugurated the two days job fair (7th and 8th September) by cutting the ribbon.
While speaking on the occasion, DDC said that unemployed youth mostly go for government jobs and do not avail the job opportunities in the private sector companies. He appealed to the unemployed youth to take the maximum benefit of the job fair as L and T Ltd., a company of national repute is providing job opportunity. He said that selected candidates will be provided three months free training by the company after which the candidate will be given jobs in the company. DDC thanked various departments for their cooperation and support in organising the job fair. He said that such fairs should be organised in remote and far flung Teshils of the district like Bani ,Basohli and Billawar so that unemployed youth of these areas could avail the employment opportunity.
Speaking on the occasion, representative from Larsen and Tubro Ltd. (L &T Ltd.) Dr. Avdesh Yadav gave a brief account of the company. He appealed to the unemployed youth to register themselves at the registration counters for availing job in the company. He informed the youth that company will provide three months training to the selected candidates before providing jobs in the various trades in the company.
During the function, two minutes silence was observed to pray for those who lost their lives and those who suffered in the recent floods and heavy rains in the State.
