JAMMU: JMC on Sunday launched an anti encroachment drive at different areas of Jammu city.
On the directions of Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Ramesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner Administration, Rajesh Sharma, along with Chief Enforcement Officer, Rajesh Gupta and Enforcement Officer, Kamni Kumar launched the aforesaid drive. During the drive, two shops which were being raised unauthorisdely without seeking permission from JMC were demolished at Qasim Nagar, Jammu. The demolition drive was conducted with the help of police force from Bahu Fort Police Station. Besides this, the team also foiled an attempt of encroachment of lane at Trikuta Nagar Extension by demolishing the gate which was being erected by encroaching upon part of lane there. The Jammu Municipal Corporation appealed to the general public to refrain from raising unauthorised construction/s failing which the demolition/sealing of the unauthorized structure will take place.
