JKPS Kunjwani holds Special Assembly on Diwali

JAMMU: The greatest significance of Diwali is to light up new, bright and colourful dreams, fresh hopes and undiscovered ways.
The exhilaration and festive spirit that Diwali brings is unsurpassed. Adding to the festive fervour, students of JK Public School, Kunjwani presented a Special Assembly on Diwali on Friday.
They began with a soulful chanting of shlokas followed by a prayer to the Almighty. The Choir, in their dulcet voices, sang songs and hymns to add melody to the occasion which was followed by thought and greetings by Anahita of class IX. Harasees of Grade VI recited a very inspiring poem on the occasion.
A Bhajan in praise of Lord Rama ‘Ram Ji Ki Nikli Sawaari’ by JKiians mesmerised the audience. Varya, Prachi, Parthvi and Priyanshi of Grade VII & VIII enhanced the knowledge of the audience with some interesting facts of Ramayana. Anaya of Grade VI gave speech on the occasion and highlighted the importance of the day.
Master Chef Competition of Creative Festive Treats filled the atmosphere with fun and flavours of Diwali. The foot-tapping fusion dance by class XII girls put the stage on fire with their swayed moves and stole the show.
As part of the Diwali Celebration, the students also participated in different Inter-House activities, namely, Diya Making for Preparatory wing, Candle Making for Middle Wing and a colourful Rangoli making Competition for Senior wing.
Shashi Chaudhary, Director JK Educational Society appreciated students for their rangoli making skills, which enthralled the spectators with their enterprising nature, aesthetic sensibility & colour combination.
She also lauded the students, staff & the Coordinator of Primary school Silvi for tastefully decorating their class boards & House boards. The jury members, comprising Inderjeet Kour, the School Coordinator & Shivangani Pandotra, the Coordinator, Toddlers’ World, indeed got a very tough time while evaluating the performances of students hailing from all the four houses.
Principal JK Public School, Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore lauded the efforts of teachers and students . He encouraged and motivated the students for celebrating Green Diwali and to save environment. He also motivated students to watch Ramayana and learn the lessons from Lord Rama’s life. He appealed students to share their joy with their less fortunate brethren & distribute sweets in their households.
