JKP provides succour, shifts patients to hospitals

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) provided helping hand in South Kashmir’s Kokernag, Kulgam and Danter areas by shifting four serious patients including two pregnant ladies to hospitals. J&K police also helped the stranded vehicles and people to reach their destinations by clearing the snow in Kokernag, Dooru, Kulgam and Shopian areas of South Kashmir and Handwara area of North Kashmir.
Police Station Kokernag received information that a pregnant lady identified as Mehroofa Banoo, wife of Tariq Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Adhall, who was on way towards Sub District Hospital Kokernag, was stranded at Wandevalgam Kokernag. After receiving this information, a team assisted by R&B employees reached the spot. She was later shifted to Sub District Hospital Kokernag for treatment.
Last evening, a phone call was received by Police Station Kokernag which stated that a pregnant lady namely Sabi Jan, wife of Nawaz Ahmad Malik, resident of Lisser Chawalgam, travelling towards Sub District Hospital Kokernag, was stranded at Buchoo due to heavy snowfall. Kokernag police along with MED employees immediately reached the spot and cleared snow from the road. The lady was taken safely to Sub District Hospital Kokernag for treatment.
Meanwhile, a phone call was received from one person Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh, resident of Hanji Danter by Police Station Anantnag that his father is suffering from acute chest pain and they were unable to reach hospital because of road blockage due to heavy snow fall. On receiving this information, SHO Anantnag along with his men rushed to the spot, cleared the road and shifted the patient in police vehicle to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment. In Kulgam, a phone call was received by Police Station Qazigund from a caller from Batengoo Kund which stated that one patient namely Shareefa, wife of Mohammad Abdullah Khan resident of Kanchloo Kund is serious and needs to be shifted to Qazigund Hospital for treatment. The phone call further stated that the road is blocked due to snowfall and they were are not able to shift her to the hospital. On receiving this information, Police reached the spot and shifted the lady to Qazigund Hospital for treatment. Moreover, Jammu and Kashmir Police helped the stranded vehicles and people to reach their destinations by restoring the blocked road after clearing the snow in Dooru and Kokernag areas of South Kashmir and Handwara area of North Kashmir.
In Handwara most of the vehicles were stranded due to heavy snowfall and rest were skidding near Galgazan Rest House. The Jawans of Police Post Zachaldara along with R&B labourers cleared the blocked road by spraying the salt to loosen the frozen layers of snow. After clearing the snow, the stranded vehicles were allowed to move. This 500 meters stretch is bordering Compartment No. 8 of Rajwar forests along the south western direction.
In Dooru and Kokernag areas of Anantnag the vehicles which were stranded due to snowfall, were allowed to move after the roads were cleared by the jawans of JKP. In these areas every possible help was given to the needy persons by JKP.
