SRINAGAR: With a view to avoid casualties, Jammu and Kashmir Police has fabricated a road barrier called “Multipurpose Nafri Guard”, which is first of its type in the country to deal with the violent mobs. The purpose of A-4 wheel movable road barrier is to block the roads so that violent mobs cannot cross the specified line.
This was disclosed by Special DGP, Coordination/ Law and Order, Dr. S.P Vaid, while inspecting the barrier here on Wednesday. He said that the barrier is welded with square welded wire mesh to save the personnel from head and body injuries during stone pelting. It is provided with a stand from where pellet shall not hit the mob, protestors above the waist.
