JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) emerged overall champion in the two-day 31th Men Freestyle and Greco Roman style and 17th Women J&K UT level Wrestling Championship which was organised by Wrestling Association of J&K in collaboration with University of Jammu (JU) at the Gymnasium hall of the JU, here today.
The overall runners-up trophy went to district Reasi while Jammu district remained third.
In the closing function, former international wrestler, Dushyant Sharma (SSP), was chief guest while Director Sports and Physical Education, JU, Dr Dawood Iqbal Baba was guest of honour.
Other prominent present were Om parkash (treasure), Ravinder Kumar (director competition), Krishan Singh, Roshan Sharma (both technical officials) and Jai Bharat (general secretary), Ravinder Kumar.
The chief guest lauded the Association for holding activities at district and UT level on a regular basis thus extending opportunities to the young wrestlers to perform and excel.
