JKNTUF to hold protest on March 6

JAMMU: The J and K National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF) has announced that it would take out a protest on 6th March in support of its demand for a comprehensive regularisation of services policy for casual labourers and need-based workers.
Talking to media persons here on Thursday, Mohammad Gafoor Dar, State President of the JKNTUF, alleged that the State Government, despite commitments with the leadership of working class on several occasions, had miserably failed to fulfill the agreements signed with the leadership of employees till date.
“The JKNTUF represents State Government employees, public sector employees, need-based casual labourers, daily wagers of various departments, Anganwadi workers and helpers and it cannot be a mute spectator to injustice being meted out to them,” Dar said.
Highlighting the major issues of causal labourers, the JKNTUF president demanded for a policy of regularisation of services for need-based and causal labourers of all departments, release of pending wages of need-based casual labourers of various departments, including Anganwadi workers and helpers.
Dar said that casual labourers and Anganwari workers are suffering badly due to non-payment of their wages and honorarium for more than six months. He appealed to the causal laoburers of all departments and Anganwari workers, helpers to assemble in MAM Stadium here on 6th March in large numbers to force the State Government and higher authorities of ICDS and PHE for immediate release of pending wages and honorarium.
