AIIMS row: JKNPP to protest outside Parliament
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Urging upon the people of Jammu region to lend their whole hearted support to the movement for restoration of AIIMS to Jammu, Harsh Dev Singh, Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Chairman and former Minister on Tuesday said that BJP shall never be allowed to surrender the Premier Health Institute sanctioned for Jammu, to Kashmir at any cost. He said that though it was premature to write the obituary of BJP but the coming events have started casting their nasty and sinister shadows.
While speaking to media persons here, Harsh said that by compromising on the issue of AIIMS, the BJP has proved that it can go to any extent to remain glued to power. He further said that by taking AIIMS to Kashmir, the PDP has extracted its pound of flesh in exactly shylocks style from the people of Jammu region to grant BJP the status of a junior partner in the government.
He regretted that not only the surrender on AIIMS but all other promises made by the BJP during Assembly Elections have proved to be hyperboles.
He said that all solemn pledges of BJP for empowerment of Jammu, holding of delimitation of Assembly and Parliamentary seats, getting Rs. 44,000 crore package from GOI for flood relief, state subject rights to West Pak Refugees, Dogra Certificate to Jammu youth, Ek Nishan Ek Vidhan, voting rights in Assembly and local bodies to WPRs, State Subject rights to children of daughters of J and K married outside the state, grant of five seats to PoJK migrants, abrogation of Art 370 besides others have all tapered down to the slogan of ‘good governance’.
Balwant Singh Mankotia State President, while lambasting the despicable surrender of BJP on AIIMS said that JKNPP would organize protests and demonstrations in front of the Parliament and Union Ministers this week to highlight the Saffron Party’s betrayal with the Jammu cause. He said that the party would meet the national leaders in New Delhi to garner support for restoration of AIIMS to Jammu region, meek surrender of the BJP-PDP govt. in the wake of hurling the Pro Pak, Pro Khalistan and Pro ISIS flags in J&K and for revocation of the new recruitment policy which has created huge resentment and antagonized the unemployed youth of the state. He regretted that despite repeated assurances by BJP no action has been taken against separatists for unfurling Pak flags, ISIS flags and raising pro Pakistani and anti India slogans in Kashmir.
