JKNPP to hold ‘Tiranga Rally’ from Lal Quila to Lal ChowkSTATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Enraged by the persistent sedition rows in several parts of the country and Kashmir in particular, JKNPP shall hold ‘Tiranga Rally’ from Lal Quila, Delhi to Lal Chowk, Srinagar from 4th to 8th May to spread the message of national integrity, unity and harmony. This was disclosed by Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP who was accompanied by Balwant Singh Mankotia State President JKNPP and Yashpal Kundal in a press conference, here today.
Expressing anguish over the perfidious silence of the BJP in the Centre and the State amid NIT Kashmir row, Harsh deplored the way the nationalist students were maltreated for upholding the honour of the Tricolour and confronting the anti- national elements.
He said that the incident was excruciatingly distressful during which the students were abused, baton charged and manhandled for raising pro India slogans and waving the Tricolour in a bid to counter the felons who rejoiced India’s defeat in the semi finals of T20 World Cup match.
He added that the State Police invoked numerous criminal charges against the out-stationed students who were also reportedly threatened by certain faculty for ruining their career.
He said that the obnoxious situation which led to the exodus of nationalist students from the valley was further aggravated when the enquiry officer appointed by the BJP partnered State Government reportedly indicted these students for allegedly vitiating the academic atmosphere of the institute in his probe report.
Singh further rebuked the statements of NIT authorities appearing in the media suggesting punitive actions against several non local students.
Taking a dig at the Saffron Party, Singh questioned the perfidious silence of Prime Minister and the Union HRD Minister over the students demand to have either of them to hoist the national flag in campus to end the impasse and uphold the message that Kashmir is an integral part of India.
He wondered on the neo jurisprudence of the BJP wherein the nationalists waving National Flag were assaulted and anti nationals inciting sedition were allowed to go scot free.
He recalled the despicable servility of the Saffron Party over the release of a separatist leader Masrat Alam by the State Government last year besides several occasions when ISIS and Pakistan flags were waved in Kashmir with anti India and pro Pak slogans only to keep its Kashmiri compeers in good humour for the lust of power.
He further lambasted the BJP Ministers for their acquiescence to the cricket tournaments being held in Kashmir to glorify terrorists as reported in section of media today.
He maintained that the historic Tiranga Rally would disseminate the message of national integrity all the way and vowed that Panthers party shall fight tooth and nail against any disrespect to the Tricolour and the motherland for whose pride and honour several freedom fighters and soldiers had sacrificed their lives and attained martyrdom.
They said that the Tiranga Rally would also oppose and expose the deceitful and sacrilegious character of the BJP and mobilise the public opinion to support the cause of nationalist students of NIT row.
Gagan Pratap Singh General Secretary and Spokesman Young Panthers and Sunil Paroch were also present in the press conference.
