JKAACL honours Dhian Singh in Sahre Maanyog

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) inaugurated the series of programme ‘Sahre Maanyog’ honoring Dhian Singh, eminent Dogri Writer on Friday at his native village Batehra, Jammu.
Narsingh Dev Jamwal, prominent Dogri poet, presided over while Dr Krishan Lal, MLA Chhamb and Dogri poet was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Dhian Singh and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL were also present in the presidium.
While speaking on the occasion, Dhian Singh said that such series of programmes will leave an impact on the youth in particular and common folk in general.
“Through such activities the writer community of the respective areas will be honoured and their contribution in the field of literature, language and folk lore will get boost and the youth will be lightened about the great works done by the elders of the region,” he said.
While appreciating the contribution of Dhian Singh, Narsingh Dev said that Dhian Singh has devoted his whole life and is working since last five decades to promote, preserve and document the mother tongue.
Krishan Lal congratulated Dhian Singh for his contribution for the promotion of Dogri literature, languages and folk of the Jammu region. He also applauded the role of Batehra village for promoting Rutt Rahre and also transforming this form into young generation.
Earlier, while welcoming the distinguished guests and the public in general, Dr Amn said that the main focus to introduce the legends of region to the youth and with honour to the legendary personalities the platform is being provided so that interaction can be held.
Dhian Singh was also honoured and Dr Yash Pal Nirmal also presented a research paper on life and contribution of Dhian Singh.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri while vote of thanks was presented by Dr Yash Pal Nirmal, Assistant Editor, Dictionary.
The poets who recited their poems include: Dhian Singh, N.D Jamwal, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Darshan Darshi, Gianeshwar Sharma, Mohan Singh, Shivdev Singh Susheel, Surinder Sagar, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Narinder Singh Chib, Puran Chander Sharma, Joginder Lal, Kewalm Kumar Kewal, Shamsher Singh, Susheel Begana, Prem Nath Radha.
Prominent persons present on the occasion were Mohinder Singh, Captain Prabhudyal (Retired), Captain Bhikham Singh( Retired) , Sarpanch Balbir Singh Langeh, Sarpanch Bhawishan Singh, Master Sham Singh, Kumari Nidhi Verma, Master Ajit Singh, Kapur Chand Bhagat and Kumari Kanchan Sharma.
