JAMMU: Honouring and appreciating the achievers with accolades is a trend with JK Public School (JKPS). The Annual Prize Distribution function for session 2022 was held on Tuesday with enthusiasm and zeal at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University.
The Annual Day was celebrated with fervor and exuberance as the students jubilant in spirits showcased their talent and skills not only through a cultural programme but also through the prize distribution awarded to the most outstanding students in academics and sports for the year 2019-2022.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Chief Minister Jammu & Kashmir and Prof. Ashok Aima, former Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu was the Guest of Honour.
Among other dignitaries present were Chairman JK Educational Society, Raj Daluja, Director JK Educational Society, Shashi Choudhary, Members of Management, Members of Alumni who have carved a niche in society, parents, awardees of the last two sessions, teachers and students.
The programme commenced with the welcome of the guests followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest Ghulam Nabi Azad, Guest of Honour Ashok Aima accompanied by the Principal and other eminent dignitaries.
The Principal, Rajesh Rathore welcomed the guests and the gathering and shared the school’s achievements through the Annual Report of the past session.
The cultural programme based on the theme ”From Darkness to Light” which means-Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness, will we discover the infinite power of our light -was an assortment of various foot tapping beats of dances which left everyone enthralled and spellbound .
The Grand finale, showcasing the composite culture of India, was an amalgamation of dances from different States of India. The audience was awestruck with the talent and skill revealed in each performance
The sports activities demonstrated on the stage were a window to the sports culture of the school and the hard work of coaches who leave no stone unturned to take the students to the national levels.
Meritorious students of the Sessions 2019-2022 of Classes XII & X were given away the prizes, for their exemplary achievements in the field of academics and sports at the National Level. Coaches of different discipline were also awarded.
Later, Chairman Raj Daluja, felicitated the Chief Guest & the Guest of Honour and thanked them for having spared their valuable time to acknowledge the efforts of the students and appreciate their achievements.
The Chief Guest lauded the cultural programme full throttle. He appreciated students for grooming themselves brilliantly & for bringing laurels to their Alma Mater in every domain of learning.
In his speech, he contended that progress of any state is a reflection of the level and quality of its education. He said that JK Public School is a school where students are excelling in all fields, like sports & cultural aspects, apart from academics.
He appreciated the role of JKPS in achieving excellence under the flagship of the Management and their endeavours.
Vote of thanks was presented by Vice Principal, Shashi Rattan, who thanked one and all who had worked to make the occasion a memorable one. The program culminated with the National Anthem.
The parents were all praises for the School and the teachers who have been consistently working towards the aim of achieving excellence, thus giving worthy citizens to the Society.
