JAMMU: J.K. Public School in Kunjwani, Jammu, facilitated a transformative educational visit to the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu, on Tuesday, for its vibrant class VI students.
Under the guidance of Dr. Devinder Singh, Prof Entomology and the visionary organizer of the event, the students were immersed in a world of agricultural innovation and sustainable practices.
Dr. Devinder shared invaluable insights aimed at enhancing productivity and rendering the agriculture sector more economically viable for the future.
The visit provided an enriching educational experience, offering the students profound insights into various facets of agriculture.
From exploring cutting-edge agricultural systems to delving into the realms of digital agriculture, start-up culture, advanced innovation, and data sciences, the students were equipped with knowledge essential for addressing challenges and uncovering opportunities in sustainable agriculture.
A highlight of the visit was the hands-on learning experience in sericulture and apiculture. Students had the unique opportunity to observe the intricacies of silk production, witness the life cycle of silkworms, and gain practical insights into beekeeping processes. Furthermore, they were introduced to mushroom farming and acquainted with various scientific methodologies.
The integrated farming research farm showcased diverse farming techniques, empowering the students to envisage effective scientific strategies for organic and integrated farming practices.
