J&K PSA delegation calls on Education Minister, submits memo

JAMMU: Executive members of central body of J and K Private Schools Association (PSA) and members of Joint Action Committee Srinagar called on the Minister for Education, Sayed Altaf Bukhari and submitted a memorandum. While presenting memorandum, the issues pertaining to the New Education Policy of the State Government to conduct the examination from class 5th to 9th and 11th under the ‘Review of no detention policy in the mid of session’ in which SIE is authorised to supervise the evaluation, serving of notices to the private schools by the fee fixation committee and constitution of new committee by the government to examine and keep a check on fee structure of unaided private schools by engaging one more department i.e. FCS and CA were discussed. Moreover internal autonomy of private schools was demanded by the members for effective education system. Minister for Education listened to the members patiently and said that none of us can ignore the services provided by the private schools for the betterment of the society.
“I am really interested to streamline the whole process in which the private schools which are rendering yeomen services can flourish without any fear psychosis,” he added. He assured the members that he would ease their grievances within a couple of days.
The deputation comprised of Prof J.L Kotwal Chairman J and K PSA, Kamal Gupta President J and K PSA, G.N Var President Joint Action Committee Srinagar, Rameshwar Mengi Vice President, Ajay Gupta General Secretary J and K PSA, Sanjeev Luthra, Ajay Singh Kotwal, Chain Singh, Tariq Bali, Vaneet Gupta, Raja Shahzad and Vishwa Mohan Sharma.
