J&K Police women team bags bronze in Archery

JAMMU: The women’s archery team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police clinched bronze in the 50 meters event outplaying the opponents from Border Security Force (BSF) in hardliner in the Fifth All India Police Archery Championship held at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium, Ranchi in Jharkhand yesterday.
As per the reports reaching here, J and K Police team comprising Rita Devi, Usha Devi, Simi Sharma and Mehnaz
Kouser defeated their opponent from BSF by comfortable margins. Earlier, teams from 23 States and Union Territories contested for the top honours in the national competition of belt forces. The event was inaugurated by the Jharkhand Governor, Draupadi Murmu.
Meanwhile, as per a handout issued here from Srinagar, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J and K, L Mohanti while congratulating the archery team on their excellent performance, assured that the department will make all possible efforts to provide better infrastructure and training, to help the players improve upon their performance in future. He added that the J and K Police was making all possible efforts to promote sports in the organisation by improving sports infrastructure, introduction of special training courses, recruitment of outstanding sports persons and Coaches etc.
