KISHTWAR: DKR Range Hqrs, Batote organized a volleyball tournament under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Chowgan Ground, here on Tuesday in which various volleyball teams of District Kishtwar participated.
SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom, accompanied by other officers, inaugurated the tournament. In his message, SSP Kishtwar welcomed all the teams and supporters, stating that such sporting events, under various ongoing welfare programmes of the Police Department, will continue.
The budding sportspersons will be given a level playing field to display their talent and ensure their career progression under these flagship programmes.
He emphasized the collective responsibility of parents, civil society members, and the police to organize such platforms to keep the younger generation away from the scourge of drug addiction and anti-social/anti-national acts.
Such sporting activities provide constructive engagement with the youth, making society a better place and allowing them to explore their hidden talents.
