SRINAGAR: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul, on Wednesday, visited Sangam, Pamposh Colony, Rakh Colony Badiwodar, Palpora and Saedpora areas of Eidgah Constituency and took stock of the measures taken by the Government in the wake of recent floods.
The Speaker directed authorities of Power Development Department to restore power supply in those areas where this service has not been restored as yet. He also asked the officers of Irrigation and Flood Control Department to start early repairing of the irrigation channels in the area.
While inspecting vaccination camp at Rakh Colony, Gul directed the concerned authorities to start vaccination in other affected areas also. Talking to the people, he assured them that a concrete bund will be constructed along the banks of River Jehlum at Noorbagh besides strengthening the existing base of the bund.
The Speaker also directed concerned officers to start cleaning up MLA hostel on war footing basis so that legislators residing there could return to their homes.
