Jammu to face Doda in U-14 cricket final

SAMBA: Jammu District shall be playing against district Doda in the final of the ongoing under-14 boys’ cricket tournament, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), at Sports Stadium, here on Tuesday.
Earlier, in the semifinals, played on Monday, Jammu defeated district Reasi by a huge margin of 119 runs thereby making it a one-sided contest. Batting first, Jammu set a target of 142 runs for six wickets in allotted 20 overs. Yuvraj Singh and Aditya Abrol remained top scorers with 45 and 41 runs respectively. For Reasi, Arfan took two wickets while Abhiya and Ajay shared apiece each.
In reply, Reasi made a meek surrender and was bundled out cheaply for just 22 runs in 6.4 overs. No batsman could touch the double figure mark. Aditya Abrol bowled brilliant spell taking away six wickets for just nine runs in three overs. Dhruv Singh Parmar bagged remained four wickets for 12 run in his spell of 3.4 overs.
In other semifinal, Doda trounced Ramban by six wickets. Batting first, after winning the toss, Ramban scored 95 runs losing all their wickets in 15 overs. Tarun and Danish were main contributors with 19 and 14 runs respectively. For Doda, Ritik took four wickets while Tabin claimed three and Yogesh bagged two.
Batting second, Doda achieved the target in 19.2 overs losing just four wickets. Sourav Kotach made 30 highest runs and Karan contributed 19 runs.
