JAMMU: The only FM Station of Jammu 92.7 BIG FM has added another chapter to their interesting and engaging activities of the past and this time has come up with another grand awards which are meant to be ‘For the City, By the City- Big Jammu Pride’.
Big Jammu Pride is all about those things of Jammu that really make us feel proud of our city. It may range from a bazaar, street, eating joint, restaurant, monument or a heritage place.
The activity started on BIG FM 15 days ago and the first category was ‘Best Restaurant’ of Jammu. Jammu people were asked to nominate their favourite restaurant and on the basis of public voting (which carried 70 per cent weightage) and jury members’ benchmarks (which was given 30 per cent weightage) top four restaurants were chosen. People were then asked to vote for their favourite one to make it No 1.
Also the jury members- Jyoti Bhatti, Principal Food Craft Institute, Jammu and Dr Anuradha Gandotra HoD PG Department of Food Science went to each one of the restaurants and rated them as per their expertise which was shown live to public through 92.7 Big FM and Jammu Links News Facebook pages. Public voting was done through whatsapp, facebook live poll and on-air calls and the cumulative results were in favour of K C Residency’s Falak.
An awards function was organised at K C Residency in which IGP Jammu Dr S.D Singh Jamwal was the Chief Guest. He congratulated all the four finalists who were competing for the title. He said that being in top four in itself means they are all winners but title can be given to only one. He appreciated the efforts of 92.7 Big FM for organising such grand events every now and then and also opined that such awards encourage a healthy competition and thereby better services.
Syed Mujtaba Ali Jaffery, Cluster Head 92.7 Big FM J and K and Punjab expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest, jury members and all the participating restaurants who really took this challenge in a healthy way and made the beginning of these year-long awards successful. He also expressed gratitude to all the listeners without whose participation is most important for the success of any such activities. The Chief Guest felicitated all the finalists- Hotel 17 Miles, Hotel Fortune Inn Riviera and Khaana Khazana.
Rahul Jandial, GM of KC Residency received the winner’s trophy and thanked Big FM and all the people who voted for them. Also present on the occasion was team from Big FM- Programming Head Vikrant Sharma and Sales Head Sidhharth Mahajan.
Fun contests and games were held during the awards ceremony where RJ Juhie and RJ Sarang put up a great show and gave away more prizes to their lucky winners.
