JAMMU: The Inter-school District Level Sports Meet began at different venues in Kathua District under the overall supervision of DYSSO Kathua, Subash Chander Bhardwaj in various disciplines for under-14 and under-17 years boys and girls.
At Sports Stadium Hiranagar and St. Xavier Convent School Hatli Morh the trials of hockey and handball were held respectively whereas at Sports Stadium Kathua the competition of judo were held on Wednesday.
Today’s Results: BOYS
Judo: Under-14: Sunder Verma of HS Airwan, Gourav of Minrva Public School Kathua, Goutam of Minrva Public School Kathua, Sahil of HSS Kerian, Shabir Hussain of MS Kathua, Vivek of HS Chadwal stood first in below 25, 30, 35, 40, 50 kg categories respectively. In above 50 Kg, Arayan Tanwal of Jammu Sanskrit School Kathua excelled.
Under-17: Irshad Ali of HSS Kathua, Amit Kumar of HS Chadwal, Sukhvinder Singh of HSS Nagri, Rahul Choudhary of Unique Model HSS Chadwal, Shoukat Ali of Learning Temple Kathua, Govind Sharma of St. Xavier Convent School Hatli and Sudhan Sharma of HSS Kerian got first place in below 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 81 Kg categories respectively.
GIRLS Under-14: Kritika Rani of HS Chadwal, Geeta Devi of MS Karroh, Tania Devi of MS Karroh, Priya Devi of MS Karroh, Ritika of Indian Public School Kathua placed first in below 23, 27, 32, 36, 44 Kg categories respectively.
Under-17: Jimmu Devi of HSS Kathera, Deepika of HS Airwan, Sunita Devi of HS Airwan, Arti Devi of HS Chadwal, Samriti Gupta of HS Chadwal, Arti Devi of HS Chadwal and Sanjna Devi of HSS Kathera placed first in below 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 61 Kg weight categories respectively. Today’s events were officiated by Dharminder Singh, Punjab Singh, Avnesh Kumar, Sukhram, Sartaj Singh, Pankaj Sapolia, Romesh Singh. Earlier, DYSSO Subash Chander Bhardwaj declared the events open at Sports Stadium Kathua.
