Inter-district divisional level competitions of DYSS;Udhampur, Jammu share badminton titles

JAMMU: District Udhampur bagged under-17 title while Jammu made it a double title win by taking way finals in other categories of under-14 and under-19 in the inter-district divisional level competitions of Jammu, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here on Tuesday.
In the under-17 category, Udhampur defeated their counterparts from district Poonch 2-1. The Results: Singles: Stuti beat Tarandeep Kour. Doubles: Stuti and Ishita lost to Tarandeep and Dhania. Reverse singles: Ananya Gupta defeated Iram Khalid.
Earlier, in the semifinals, Udhampur defeated district Kathua 2-0 while Poonch trounced Jammu District 2-0.
In under-14 age group, Jammu girls beat district Kishtwar 2-0. Similarly, in under-19 category, Jammu downed district Samba 2-0. The competition was officiated by the technical penal including Vishal Bharti, Vaneet, Amit Kalsi and Ravinder.
CHESS: Meanwhile, in inter-district chess meet, Arushi and Avni Gupta, both from Jammu District, won the under-14 and under-17 titles respectively. In under-14 category, Arushi beat Rashi while in under-17 age group, Avni trounced Ananya of district Udhampur. Finals were officiated by the technical panel including Raman Sharma and Nitin Sethi.
