JAMMU: Government College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar and Mahant Bachiter Singh (MBS) College lifted Inter-college Gatka trophy in women and men sections respectively.
The tournament was held under the banner of Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at its Gymnasium Hall, here on Thursday.
The overall championship of women section was won by GCW Gandhi Nagar team comprised of Simranjeet Kour, Mandeep Kour, Avneet Kour, Harmeet Kour and Shweta. The GCW Parade team comprised of Rasleen Kour, Balvinder Kour, Harneet Kour, Parvinder Kour, Jaspreet Kour and Dajleen Kour bagged stood second. The overall championship of men section was lifted by MBS College of Engineering and Technology and the players were Simranjeet Singh, Jujhar Singh, Prabjyot Singh, Harjot Singh, Pawandeep Singh, Avideep Singh. The team of MAM College stood second and the players were Mandeep Singh, Jasmeet Singh, Baljeet Singh, Charanjeet Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Lovejot Singh and Prabjyot Singh.
Prof. Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu awarded medals and trophies to the players of the winning teams in the presence of Manmeet Singh, Sumnesh Sharma, Suman Lata, Prof. Davinder Kour, Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Balbir Singh Chib, Sheetal and P.D Singh.
The matches were officiated by Amarjeet Singh, Harsimran Singh, Ravinder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Parvinder Singh, Rupinder Singh, Lovepreet Singh and Yashpreet Singh.
The championship was organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu under the overall supervision of Prof. Avtar Singh Jasrotia.
