JAMMU: The 43rd edition of the Annual inter-college athletics meet, organised by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education of University of Jammu (JU), got underway on the campus fields and tracks, here on Tuesday.
The mega event, involving hundreds of athletes from 28 affiliated colleges of JU, was declared open by Minister for Food and Supplies, Zulfkar Ali, who was Chief Guest. Vice Chancellor, JU, Prof R.D Sharma presided.
Earlier, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Prof. Avtar Singh Jasrotia welcomed the Chief Guest and other distinguished gathering. Prominent persons among others present were Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Desh Bandhu, Dean Students Welfares, Prof. Satnam Kour, Director DIQA, Prof. Meenakshi Kilam, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, H.S Chib, Kuldeep Magotra, Dr Vinod Bakshi, Sumnesh Sharma, Ajaz Ahmed, Sudesh Bhagat, Mahesh Sharma, Dr. Balwinder Singh, Balbir Singh, Monika, Narayani Jamwal, Mandeep Singh, Tanvir Ahmed, Vijay Kumari and R.S Jasrotia.
Today’s events were officiated by the technical panel comprising Nirmal Singh, Gautam Sharma, VIkesh Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Chamil Singh, Vinay Manhas, Anil Sharma and Harvinder Singh as also those BPEd and MPEd students.
