Inter-Battalion CRPF Sports Meet concludes 166 Bn wins volleyball, 121 Bn basketball titles

KATHUA: 166 Battalion clinched the volleyball title in the inter-battalion sports meet of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) outplaying 187 Battalion in the final played at District Police Line (DPL) ground, here on Tuesday. In the well contested title clash in volleyball, 166 Bn virtually snatched the win in the fourth set of the game thereby making it 3-1 (25-15, 28-30, 27-25, 25-23) on board. Earlier, the title clash witnessed many ups and downs throughout the game.
In the basketball final, 121 Battalion defeated 76 Battalion by 11 (36-25) points. The meet, which was inaugurated by Commandant 121 Bn CRPF, S.S Rana on 10th March, was concluded on Tuesday with the valedictory function.
In the closing ceremony, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kathua, Ramesh Kumar was Chief Guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes.
Speaking to the participating teams, the Chief Guest congratulated the winners and wished success to those lost in the competition for next time. He praised the host 121 Bn for their successful conduct of the events.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kathua, Khalil Poswal, 2IC, CRPF 121 Bn, Nisar Mohd, Dy. Commandants, K.L Dhiman and Pawan Kumar, Assistant Commandants B.S Rawat and Minimal among those senior officers were present.
