KISHTWAR: Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh on Friday called for unity to counter the challenge posed by Pakistan and its lackeys within, saying the nation must rise above politics and give a befitting reply all those posing threat to integrity and sovereignty of the nation.
“We are Indians first and everything else later”, Jitendra Singh said while addressing a public meeting in Kishtwar. Lashing out at those who questioned the credentials of the government at the Centre or the Indian Army, he said, “These are precisely the leaders who do not have the guts to call a terrorist a terrorist but they find the Army a soft target for their vicious campaign. If you ask them a pointed question whether Burhan Wani was a terrorist or not, they will avoid and evade the question and give some philosophical reply but they have the cheek to question the patriotism of country’s nationalist leadership”.
Slamming entities who try to create a divide in the society by making provocative references to certain nationalist social organisations, the Union Minister told his party-men that if somebody sarcastically taunts them that they are receiving orders from Nagpur (RSS Headquarters), they should politely respond saying that they are proud to take orders from Nagpur and not from Islamabad or Pakistan as they do. He said, such leaders who make these sarcastic and provocative references are actually suffering from a deep sense of insecurity and seeking their political survival by keeping the separatist lobby and Pakistan in good humour through obsessive and childish references to RSS and Nagpur. Dr Jitendra Singh said, we believe in non-violence but even Mahatma Gandhi preached that non-violence is not a virtue of the meek or the week. Therefore, he said, our belief in non-violence should not be construed as cowardice or weakness. Paying rich tributes to security forces,
Singh said, if at all we are safe and secure today, it is because our young Jawans are guarding our borders and exercising day-and-night vigil under most difficult circumstances without even getting enough time to have their food or catch a nap of sleep. It is for the self-styled protagonists of human rights to answer whether, according to them, an Indian soldier is also entitled to human rights or not. These protagonists always talk of human rights of the terrorists, whereas the truth is that terrorism itself is the biggest violation of human rights, he added.
Singh announced two Community Halls from his MPLAD fund, one each for Kishtwar town and Indrawal. He also announced solar electrification at the cost of over Rs. 50 lakh for village Bhattan adopted by him under Sansad Aadarsh Gram Yojana.
Health Minister Bali Bhagat also spoke on the occasion and announced the setting up of a Nursing College in Kishtwar. Minister of State for Transport (I/C) Sunil Sharma gave a detailed account of over Rs. 600 crore sanctioned for PGSYM roads in the region. BJP District President Akshay Kumar, Capt. Hukam Chand, Brij Mohan, Anil Parihar and others also spoke on the occasion.
