Indian security forces kill top Hizbul Mujahideen commander in J&K
Srinagar: Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants were on Thursday killed in an encounter in Avantipore district of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per reports, acting on a specific information about presence of militants, security forces launched a search operation in village Chursoo of Avanatipura sector in South Kashmir.
While the security forces were closing in on the positions of the militants, they opened fired. The Indian troops retaliated strongly and killed two Hizbul Mujahideen militants one of whom was identified as a top commander of the militant outfit.
On September 30,2014, Indian security forces had gunned down and unidentified militant in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
