JAMMU: On the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas which is being celebrated across the country to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a special cover was released by the J&K Postal Circle in a function held here on Tuesday.
Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle, Sanjay Sharan released the special cover and handed over to Suresh Kumar Gupta Managing Director, State Forest Corporation, J&K Government who was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Director Postal Services (Hqs) J&K, Gaurav Shrivastava and Dy Director Accounts Postal, Arun Kumar were also present.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Postmaster General said that department is releasing special cover from time to time to acknowledge the contribution of great personalities and today has brought the special cover on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who stood for the unity of the nation.
Among others Superintendent of Post Offices Jammu Postal Division, G.R Parrey and other officers and staff of Department of Posts were also present.
