JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party’s National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Wednesday termed the opposition leaders’ statements on CAA as fact-less, saying INDI Alliance should stop misleading the people of the country.
Chugh blamed Arvind Kejriwal, the Congress leaders and Mamata Banerjee for their fact-less, ridiculous and misleading statements, saying there there is no threat to any religion, caste or section from the government’s notification on CAA.
“The only threat is to the Rohingyas, illegal infiltrators and their masters in the country’ he said, adding that Rohingyas are attempting to make the country’s environment unsafe by entering India illegally.
Chugh said that atrocities against religious minorities, violation of rights, insecurity, atrocities against women and religious conversion have been happening in the neighbouring countries for many years, which is unbearable. They should get protection on humanitarian basis, he added.
Chugh said that after 1947, the number of religious minorities– Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains and Buddhists in Pakistan was about 28 percent, which has come down to 1 to 2 percent now. In Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, the rights of Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains etc. have been violated and atrocities are taking place, which is worrying. There is a legal effort to provide them protection in India when they seek citizenship through CAA, he maintained.
Questioning the opposition leaders, Chugh asked is there any problem in giving legal citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Buddhists etc. on humanitarian basis through CAA? What sympathy do the leaders of opposition parties have for Rohingyas, he questioned.
Chugh said that it is unfortunate that Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee and Congress are trying to mislead the people of the country. But they will not succeed in their attempt of appeasement. The leaders of INDI Alliance want to make their own fortune by spreading confusion and provoking the sentiments of some people, he said. “The people of the country know that the leaders of INDI Alliance want to do vote bank politics by doing religious appeasement instead of security and unity of the country. The people of the country want to make a strong and safe India and a developed Bharat under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Mod”, he said.
