SAMBA: A meeting of District/Sectoral Officers was held under the chairmanship of Mubarak Singh, District Development Commissioner, Samba in connection with launching of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the district.
The Swachh Bharat Mission is being launched in District Samba, in pursuance to the guidelines of Govt. of India, campaign to clean India, on 2nd Oct, the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, The DDC impressed upon all the officers and stressed that every person living in rural as well as urban areas should be involved for creating a healthy and clean environment; which is infact the need of the hour through various modes ‘viz’ Organizing Sanitation Marathon/Walkathon, rallies, painting competition and Parbhat Pheries etc.
The officers of Education Department were directed to make a comprehensive plan for involving the students to make their surroundings ‘viz’ class rooms, playgrounds, school and home neat and clean and also carry forward the message among the people for making environment clean.
The officers of Rural Development Department, Social Welfare Department were also directed to take effective steps in this regard by way of involving members of PRIs, VLWs, Anganwari Workers and Helpers.
The Executive Officers of Municipal Committees were also directed for launching a comprehensive cleanliness drive in their respective jurisdictions.
Additional District Dev. Commissioner – Vivek Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner-Inderjeet, Assistant Commissioner Development – Pardeep Manhas, GM DIC- Satish Sharma, CPO-Devinder Singh, besides the District/Sectoral officers of all the departments were also present in the meeting.
